Obituary - Missouri Telegraph - May 13, 1920 - "D.M Bartley who was born and raised in Callaway Co.. died at Clyde, Texas, Sunday, of paralysis, the news being received by his brother, J.D. Bartley of this county late Friday. Deceased was 77 and was born on the Bartley farm in this county and reared in this county. With his older brother, J.D., he served in the Confederate army during the war, both enlisting in the company organized by Capt. Dan McIntire. He moved to Texas a number of years ago and made his first visit back to the county last fall, after being away for 37 years, and renewed the acquaintance of some of his old friends, being here during the street fair. J.D. said Saturday that he is the last survivor of 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Deceased's wife died about four years ago and he is survived by three daughters and one son. He was buried Monday with Masonic honors."
