Mary Ellen Patt Burgess, 73, of Fulton passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, at University Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Calvary Episcopal Church with the Rev. Amy Cortright officiating.

Mary was born June 25, 1934, in St. Louis to Harold Thomas and Violet Gan Burgess. She was a schoolteacher for more than 30 years. She taught for 20 years in the St. Louis Public School District and served five years of that as an administrator.

She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and the Missouri Extension Womens Auxiliary. She was an artist, writer, doll maker and loved animals.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Isbell of Millersburg; three daughters, Mary Kay and husband Randy Savage of Kansas City, Peggy Patt and Joey of St. Louis and Laura Beavers and John of Washington, Mo.; and a sister, Elizabeth and husband James Shaner of Salt Lake City. She was the beloved GranMary of Cassidy, Gabriel, Jennifer, Andrew, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Lindsay, Robin and Dylan and beloved niece Amelia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Barton Burgess; her parents; and one son, Brian Isbell.
