Revolutionary War Soldier

Served with his brother Augustine in Lord Dunmore's War.
Fought Indians on the frontier, helped run the colonial governor out of Virginia in 1776 and defended the Virginia capital at Williamsburg, fought in some of the notable battles of the Revolution, including Trenton, Monmouth and Brandywine; he endured the winter encampments at Morristown, Valley Forge and Bound Brook, and survived to return to farm in Bedford County, where the "old soldier" raised his family and died in 1830.
