Ira Coffey passed away from pancreatic cancer on Nov. 25, 2006 at age 82. He returned to his birthplace, Vancouver, WA, in Dec. of 2005. He lived and worked in the Tri-Cities for 51 years, and was the original owner of Coffey's Refrigeration in Kennewick, WA.

In his youth, he was inducted into the Army and spent nearly three years in the service in the European Theater, including the "Battle of the Bulge". He was a member of the Tri-Cities Elks Club, American Legion, Kennewick Eagles, Knights of Columbus, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, St. Joseph's Church in Kennewick and now St. John's the Evangelist in Vancouver where he and Mary were married 59 years ago. They worked together in Arizona for Maricopa County as volunteer campground hosts for seven years, which they enjoyed immensely. They both also enjoyed Old Time Dancing.

Ira is survived by his wife, Mary, son, Patrick (Carol), brother, Calvin, and sister, Clara Paulsen, all of Vancouver.

Viewing will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Thurs., Nov. 30 from 5 to 9pm. Mass will be at St. John's the Evangelist Church, 8701 NE 119 St., at 10:30am on Dec. 1, 2006. After Mass, burial will take place at noon at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a reception to follow at St. John's The Evangelist Church..
