David Patman Carson was the second child of John English Carson and Margaret Hunter Carson of North Carolina. He was a lifetime resident of Franklin County, Georgia where he taught school and was an Ordained Minister. He was licensed to preach at Middle River Church in Franklin Co. in 1838 (see attached photo).

His home was on Crockett's Creek, near Ashland, Franklin County, GA. David and Cynthia had seven sons and two daughters. All seven sons, along with two sons-in-law served the Confederacy in the "War Between the States". David passed awy on 9 March 1883 and left a will in Franklin County, Georgia per Georgia, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1742-1992. He is buried alongside his wife Cynthia Miller Carson in the Carson Road Family Cemetery on Carson Road in Franklin County, Georgia.
