RUBY MASSEY HISKEY
Services for Ruby Massey Hiskey, 92, of San Pedro, California and formerly of Mesa will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. She died Thursday, August 27, 1998 in San Pedro.
Mrs. Hiskey was a homemaker, was born in Manassa, Colorado.
Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

RUBY MASSEY HISKEY
Ruby was born in Manassa, Colorado in 1906. Shortly after her birth, her parents, Ira and Ida Massey, moved to the Heber Valley and in 1908 on to Vernal, Utah, where Ruby attended school. When she was about 12, the family moved to Chandler, Arizona. They soon moved on to Williams, where they settled. Ruby attended Williams High School for two years, but she graduated from the high school in Chandler, Arizona, where she lived with Opal during her senior year.
In 1941 Ruby married Benjamin Earl Herrmann. He soon became father to Carol, Ruby's daughter from a previous arriage, as well as their own son, John Frederick. Ruby worked for the U.S. Post Office in Williams for twelve ears. At the end of 1955, they moved to Phoenix. One month later, in January of 1956, Benjamin died of a heart attack, leaving Ruby with two teenage children to raise. She went to work for the Goldwater Store.
Ten years later Ruby met Lee Allen Hiskey. Lee was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and had lived about 15 years in Reno, Nevada before moving to Phoenix. He was employed as a body and fender man. In 1967 Lee and Ruby were wed. Lee is now retired. They enjoy sunny Phoenix and camping and fishing.
