On 11th of July 1923, Stoddard County, Missouri, Application for a Pension of the Deserving Blind, by Malinda Fields due to blindness. In it, it states parents are James Fields and Mary Jane Riddle. She gives her age as 53 years, being born in Stoddard County, Missouri. She states she became blind in 1873, in both eyes. Witnesses to this document was Amanda C. Garner and Marandy Garner. Cause of blindness was Trachoma.
