Donald Eugene Bolander, 79 years, passed away December 1, 2012, after a brief illness, his family at his side. He was born March 28, 1933 to the late Glenn and Maxine Buck Bolander in his grandparents' log cabin near Castleton, IN. Donald was a self-employed painting contractor for 43 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge #251, Murat Shrine and Keystone Chapter #240 OES. Don was very involved in the sport of bowling. He was a Past President and life member of the Indy Bowling Association and was elected to its Hall of Fame in 1999. Don was especially proud of the Monday A.M. Senior Masters Championship Traveling League, which he co-founded. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending summers at his cabin on Round Lake near Frederic, WI, and the "family" at Bass Lake. Don loved following the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. However, his pride and joy was his beloved granddaughter, Sydney. He loved watching her bowl, pitch softball, and fish. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Jean "Sue" Stewart Bolander; son, William R. (Marlene) Bolander; granddaughter, Sydney Lynn Bolander; brother-in-law, Robert (Sue) Stewart; uncle, Robert Buck of St. Paul, MN; and many cousins and friends.. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m., and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12 noon at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd.
