He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1942, attended Biscayne College, was a veteran of the US Navy, was a member and past commander of the VFW Post 6480, and was a 32nd degree Mason at the Stokes Lodge.
He married Millicent Ward and they had two children, Lee and Ann. He was later blessed with the sunshine of his life, his granddaughter Jenny.
He had retired from Hilbish Motor Company. Sherrill developed Shy-Drager syndrome, a rare progressive degenerative disorder of the nervous system. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His ashes are with his family.
