J. NEWTON HOOVER - J. Newton Hoover, aged 85 years, died this morning at 1:15 o'clock at the home of his cousin, Miss Annie Stouffer, near Rouzerville, with whom he had been making his home for the last eight years. He was born in Ringgold, the son of Jacob and Sophia Barkdoll Hoover, and had lived most of his life in Ringgold. Mr. Hoover was a butcher by occupation and for the last 15 years was retired. He had been ill for the last four weeks and on November 25 was admitted to the Waynesboro Hospital where he was a patient for four days. He was a member of the Eighty Year Club. Surviving is an adopted son, John Ziegler of Waynesboro, and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Earl Rinehart of Waynesboro Route 4. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Grove funeral home in charge of the Rev. Victor H. Jones. Interment will be made in Ringgold cemetery. Friends may call at the Grove funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
