Mrs. Nettie Childers Sparks, 93, of Columbus, Georgia died Monday December 12, 2106 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 16, 2016 at 2PM (CT) at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Carmack officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12 Noon (CT) until 2PM (CT) at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Sparks was a native of Chambers County, Alabama, she was born July 16, 1923 to George W. And Arrie Edge Childers. She was member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Union Hill, Alabama and was retired from Playtex and later from Russell Corporation both in LaFayette.
She is survived by four children, Patricia (William) Glisson of Tallapoosa, GA, Jackie Blackburn of Columbus, GA, Nokie (John) Cox of Columbus, GA, Scott (Nansi) Sparks of LaGrange, GA; one sister, Maggie Childers Smith of Raleigh, NC; 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband O.B. (Jack) Sparks, son Wyman Bennett Sparks, three sisters, Laura Childers Harmon, Mary Jim Childers Roberts, Zelna Childers Wallace, and three brothers, Frank Childers, Lewis Childers & Otis Childers.
