He was born Aug. 19, 1920, in George West, to the late Sidney Borden and Rissa May Burrows Malone. He was a retired business owner of Burrow's Hardware Co. and a rancher. He graduated from A.C. Jones High School and Texas A&I University, served as a volunteer choir director for 40 years and was also a church deacon and elder for the Presbyterian Church, a State Bank & Trust Co. director for 45 years, a past member of the Beeville school board, and a member of the Rotary Club.
Survivors: wife, Marilyn S. Malone [Marilyn Mae Doree Strauss (Malone)]; daughters, Patti Malone Turner of Sugar Land, Day Malone Abel of Beeville, and Monna Malone Rector of Houston; sister Ann Malone Winkle of Round Rock; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by: son, Michael Louis Malone; stepmother, Bennie Kubala Malone; sisters, Rissa Mary Malone, and Marjorie Malone Evans.
Visitation will be today noon to 8 p.m., with family receiving friends 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Galloway & Sons chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Mark Spence officiating.
Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. Galloway & Sons, Beeville, 361-358-2512.
