FORMER TEACHER SUCCUMBS HERE. Miss Cornelia Beach, Who Taught School In Louisville For 27 Years, Dies Early Thursday At Griggs Sanitarium. Miss Cornelia Alexander Beach, teacher for 27 years in the Louisville public schools died here early Thursday morning at the Griggs Sanitarium, 1911 East Oak Street. Miss Beach had been ill of complications for some time and was taken to the sanitarium recently. She resided here with two cousins, Miss Emily Beach and [Miss] Cora B. Collins, 1417 East Main Street, her closest surviving relatives. Daughter of the late George R. Beach, member of a prominent New Albany family, Miss Beach taught school in Louisville from 1910 to 1937, when she retired. The body is at Seabrook's Chapel, 1119 East Market Street, where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Services will be in charge of the Rev. A. P. Bizzell, pastor of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, of which Miss Beach was a member. Place of burial had not been decided. - New Albany Tribune 15 Feb 1940
