NEW CASTLE – Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Tanner-Reynolds Mortuary for Russell M. Hooks, 64, of 1005 Beckford St., who died of Complications following surgery Friday afternoon in St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Hooks was born March 2, 1920, in Adrian, Pa., a son of Harry and Martha McCollum Hooks. He was employed for more than 30 years for Penn Power Co., retiring in 1982 as a control room operator. He was a member of Third United Presbyterian Church, its men's club and Mr. and Mrs. Sunday school class and Forum Club, and was a World War II veteran of the Coast Guard. Besides his wife, the former Lois M. Brennaman, whom he married in December 1942, he leaves a son, Russell W. of Vienna; a daughter, Mrs. Patty Jo Dean of New Castle; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Thies of Rising Sun, Ind.; and four grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Mortuary.
