Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but tentative plans for Masonic services at Bay St. Louis Wednesday evening were announced. The body was then removed to Houston for burial. Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Banister had resided in Houston for 25 years. He retired recently from affiliation with the Texas State Hotel there.
His wife, the former Mrs. Lucy Miller, preceded him in death several years ago.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Gotch of Hollywood, Calif., a granddaughter, three stepchildren, Horace L. Miller and Mrs. A. A. Thorp of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. J. M. McLean, of Laredo, and four brothers, Dr. C. M. Banister of New Orleans and Bay St. Louis, Miss., J. B. Banister of New Orleans, R. A. Banister of Chatham and L. M. Banister of Little Rock, Ark.
Mr. Banister was the son of the late Thomas Banister and Emma Lovett Banister of Chatham. He was a Methodist and member of the Columbia Lodge No. 164 F. and A. M.
