William H. "Bill" Ideker of Dubois died at his home in Dubois on Tuesday morning, Jan. 12, 2010, at the age of 75.

William Henry Ideker was born in LaCrosse, Wis., on April 4, 1934, the son of William C. Ideker and Pearl I. (Zimmerman) Ideker. He was graduated from high school in Caledonia, Minn., in 1952.

Mr. Ideker was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957 and served during peacetime.

He married Jean Wuennecke on Nov. 5, 1960, in Brownsville, Minn.

He had lived in Brownsville until 1957 and then moved to Dubois in 1963.

From 1952 to 1957 he worked for his uncle, Alvin Goetzinger in Brownsville, Minn.; served in the Army in 1957; worked for Eversole Rogers dealership in LaCrosse, Minn., from 1958 to 1963, and worked in the timber industry. Mr. Ideker was founder and owner of Bill's Conoco in Dubois.

His family said Mr. Ideker enjoyed building old cars and tractors, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling in his younger years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Knights Templar.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Ideker of Dubois; son, Jerry Ideker and his wife Laurie and their children Cory and Carlie of Dubois; daughter, Joy Coulston and husband Rodney of Laramie; brothers, Arnold Ideker and wife Letha of Brownsville, Minn., and Delmer Ideker and wife Dorothy, also of Brownsville; sisters Phyllis Buchner of LaCrosse, Wis., Ruth Proksch and husband Bill; Arliss Seymour and husband Dave of, and Kathy Fitzpatrick and husband Dave all of Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pearl Ideker, and grandparents, Henry and Martha Zimmerman and Fred and Mary Ideker.
