COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Rippetoe Shumate, 80, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 29, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shumate went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville.
She was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Putnam County to the late Charlie and Nina Lucille Qualls Rippetoe.
Mrs. Shumate was a member of Locust Grove Church of Christ. She owned and operated Bobbie's Beauty Shop in Cookeville for many years and was very active in the Cookeville Senior Citizens, where she was loved and will be missed by many.
A special thanks to a dear friend, Sue Van De Voorde, for being there for Bobbie during her recent illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Donnie Russell and Robert Whitaker.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Bros. David Flatt and Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
