Ray Winston Aiken, age 60, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.

A Chatham County native, Ray had lived in Savannah and Hilton Head, South Carolina moving to Tattnall County in 1988. He was a U.S Army veteran and had been stationed in Germany and Texas during his service. He spent many years as a heavy equipment operator.

He survived by his wife of 40 years, Helga Aiken of Collins; daughters, Daniela Johnson of St. Louise, MO, and Randi LaChance of South Carolina; brothers, Randall Stafford; sisters, Nancy Buttermer and Angie Edwards both of Savannah; grandchildren, Autumn, Christian and Preston Wise, Rayann, Austin, and Desiray LaChance. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm Friday, November 30, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, December 3, 2012 from the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Vollie Nelson officiating. Military honors will be rendered.
