FRED SABEN
Oquawka — Services for Fred Saben, 82, resident of the Gladstone and Oquawka vicinities most of his life, who died at Denver, Colo., Monday, will be held at the local Presbyterian church Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. P. L. Powell, pastor of the Methodist church at Biggsville, will officiate and burial will be in Oquawka cemetery. The body is at the Mudd funeral home in Biggsville.
Retiring from farming in 1943, Saben was a native of Oquawka and was the son of Mr. Oquawka was the son of Margaret Hllenbrand and William Saben. He was one of 8 chiltdren. He went to Denver last Oct. 12.
Besides his wife, the former Maude Rose, of Denver, Colo., he leaves 5 children, Cornelius Saben, Stronghurst; Johnny Saben, Oquawka; Mrs. Walter Heidecker, Chicago; Mrs. Elgy Krowell, Burlington; Mrs. Lee Jones. Oquawka; a step-daughter, Mrs. M. Kaiser, Denver, Colo.; one step-son, Forba Rose, Wild Horse, Colo.; a brother, Charles Saben, Moline; and one sister, Mrs. C. F. Meyer, Chicago.
He was a member of the local Presbyterian church.
