She was the daughter of William and Rhoda Smith Potts of Lick Creek. She married Milton Sykes Meacham in 1861. They had the following children: Elizabeth Jane Cotton, Edna Fitzpatrick, John Milton Meacham, Lenora Hughes, Mary Addie Hardison, Robert Newell Meacham, Dora Blankenship, William Meacham, Florance Meacham, and Joseph Early Meacham, and Sara Ella Irwin.
