Funeral Services for Well Known Valdostan and Member of Prominent Family to be Tomorrow. FROM FUNERAL HOME.
Funeral services for William Stanley West age 35, well known Valdostan, who was found dead in his room this morning by a negro servant, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from McGowan-Giddens Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the family mausoleum in Sunset Hill.
The Rev. Hoke. S. Dickerson, pastor of the First Christian Church, of which the family had long been members, will conduct the services.
Survivors are his wife and three children: Lila Mae West, William Stanley West and Horace Reeves West.
Other survivors are an uncle and aunt, Judge and Mrs. J.G. Cranford; an aunt, Mrs. T.G. Cranford; two cousins, Mrs. J.R. Dasher and Miss Elizabeth Coffee of this city. A cousin, Mrs Caroline Martin Reeves, of Thomasville also survives. There are a number of other relatives who survive.
Mr. West was the son of the late Senator and Mrs. W.S. West. He was born in Atlanta, but spent all of his life in this city. For a number of years he was engaged in business here, at one time being in the retail automobile business.
A coroner's jury, summoned after the finding of his body, returned a verdict that he came to his death through a self-inflicted wound. The exact hour of the occurrence was not established.
Mr. West was a member of one of the oldest and best known families in South Georgia and his death is a shock to a wide circle of relatives and friends.
