6/6/2013 Update for this Cemetery:
I (Vy) spoke with Cass County Historical and Genealogical Society today, who confirmed that the cemetery no longer exists. But it was apparently located at the intersection of Crum and Thompson Roads, south of Virginia, IL. On Google maps, this area is just fields, with no evidence of a cemetery -39.880335, -90.268323

Amanda was born in Rockingham County, VA, to John Hammer & Elizabeth Merica. Amanda married Ossian M. Ross in Cass County, IL, on 10 Sep 1846. She died in Cass County, IL, on 8 Mar 1854. She and Ossian had five children that can be documented: Mary E., Francis Caroline, Catherine Ruth, Harriet, and John H.

2) Francis Caroline Ross: b. abt 1849 in IL, m. Milton C. Alexander, 8 Dec 1867, d. 5 Mar 1881 in Watson, MO;
3) Catherine Ruth Ross: b. 16 Nov 1850 in IL, m. John Conrad, 1868, d. 8 Aug 1928 in Watson, MO;
4) Harriett Ross: b. abt 1852 in IL, m. Isaac Newton Broyles, d. 1939 in Kimball, NB;

After Amanda C. Hammer Ross died at age 26, Ossian Ross married Amanda Lee and they had eight children.

If she had a grave stone, it may be lying in a ditch across the road; the cemetery no longer exists, it is a farmers field as of 2013 per the Cass County Historical and Genealogical Society
