MSG Allen was born in Columbia, SC., to the late Robert F. Sr., and Beatrice Neeley Allen. He retired from the US Army where he served in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a five time recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and was twice awarded the Bronze Star. He later retired from the Dept. of Corrections as a procurement manager. He was a member of the 1st Squadron, 1st Calvary Veteran's Assoc., the American Legion Camden Post, the Americal Division Veteran's Assoc., and the Disabled American Veterans Assoc.
Robert "Bob" was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who know him.
Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-three years, Lucie E.Allen, his daughters, Deborah Atkinson and Angela Lutz, grandchildren, Aaron and Alan Atkinson, Lauren Carroll, Kristen and Michael Lutz. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Dylan Atkinson, Anna and Jayden Carroll.
Memorials may be made to 1st Squadron, 1st Calvary Veteran's Assoc., the American Legion Camden Post, Americal Division Veterans Assoc., or to the Disabled American Veterans.
