Funeral services for Patricia Murel Garrett, age 69, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at South Liberty Cemetery with Howard Birchfield, Donald Birchfield, Bobby Burney, Earl Knox, Butch Burney and Skipper Hurley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Garrett passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Garrett was born on December 6, 1942 in Sulphur Springs the daughter of Jessie Murel and Virginia Ruth (Birchfield) Burney. She married Edwin Garrett in 1960 in Sulphur Springs and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Garrett was a Certified Nurses Aid for over 21 years and a member of South Liberty Church. She is survived by one son, Wayne Garrett and wife Paula of Sulphur Springs, one daughter, Tanya Garrett of The Colony, brother, James Birchfield and wife Edna of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Amber Weaver and husband Barry of Commerce, Jessica McInnis and husband Bryan of Minnesota, Randall Garrett of Sulphur Springs, Erika Garrett of Tyler and London Garrett of The Colony, Shannon Powell and husband Bruce of Como, Bridget Clower and husband Robby of Rockwall, Brandon Price and wife Sara of Sulphur Springs, great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hatcher,Olivia Weaver and Bailey Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jeffrey Garrett, sister Dorothy Kennedy. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
