Daughter of William Daniel Capps and Susan Powell.

Emma Capps Priestley, was born at Martinsburg, Illinois, August 24, 1873, a daughter of William and Susie Capps, and passed away in Illini hospital in Pittsfield, June 2, 1955.
At the age of 15 she united with the Baptist church at Martinsburg and remained a faithful and devoted member.
She was married to Fred Priestley of Pleasant Hill in 1894. A daughter died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Priestley spent most of her life in the vicinity of Martinsburg and Pleasant Hill. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Galloway and Mrs. Kate Perry, both of Pleasant Hill. She also leaves many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held in the First Baptist church in Pleasant Hill, Saturday afternoon at 2, with Rev. Ernest Dawdy officiating. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery.
