ECKHART — Alice Mae (Green) Frisby, 87, of Eckhart Mines, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.

Born April 11, 1925, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Waites and Mary Wilson Green. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Frisby; sisters, Georgia Bullett, Fannie Bell Green, and Hattie Myers; and brothers David Green, Oscar Green, and James Green.

Alice is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Frisby; daughter, Michele R. Frisby, New Carrollton; brother, Earl Green and his wife Johnnie Mae of Deltona, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alice attended Frederick Street High School (later called Carver High) in Cumberland. In 1944, she married Robert Frisby while he was in the U.S. Navy.

Alice touched the lives of many. She truly loved people and had a very optimistic outlook on life. She loved to discuss religion and the fact that one day she would go to heaven and see her beloved first daughter Charlene. She loved to cook, bake, quilt, and do crafts, and most of all, to socialize with friends and family. Alice had very definite opinions about things, which she did not hesitate to share. She lived her life unfailingly according to her beliefs.

She was a member of Eckhart Baptist Church, where she was actively engaged for many years as a Sunday school teacher, hardworking member, and mentor and friend to many.

Alice will be cremated.

Friends will be received at the Eckhart Baptist Church on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Eichhorn officiating.

Inurnment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park the morning of Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012
