Laraine M. Empie, age 64, of Millers Grove Road, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning November 28, 2009 in Little Falls Hospital.

She was born on June 8, 1945 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Russell and Esther Gray Manley. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Springfield Center and was a graduate of Springfield High School and had continued her education at Herkimer County Community College.

On October 10, 1964 she was united in marriage with Richard L. Empie. They have made their home in Frankfort since 1965.

Mrs. Empie placed her family and home foremost in her life. In her leisure time she loved to watch the birds and tend to her colorful flower garden. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jig saw puzzles. To her family, cherished are the memories of the caring love she had for them and the warm wonderful aromas of her cooking and baking. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her two grandchildren that she loved more than anything in the world. She will be greatly missed.
