J.Q. Johnson of Terre Haute, a brother-in-law of Lawrence Monaghan of Dana, died suddenly on last Saturday evening, from paralysis of the brain and spine. He was about 40 years of age and a member of the Red Man's order.

John Q. Johnson was born in Vermillion County, IN, August 31, 1860, and died August 4, 1900 in his home in Terre Haute, IN, after an illness of one week. On May 5, 1886 he was married to Mary Monaghan. To this union was born 5 children, 2 of whom are deceased. He leaves a wife, 3 children, one sister - Mrs. E.A. Houchin - 3 brothers - Orlo R., Franklin, and Erwin E. - to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted at 4 o'clock last Monday afternoon by Rev. Case of the First Baptist Church of Terre Haute, after which the remains were taken to Woodlawn Cemetery under the auspices of the L.O.R.M. of which he was a member, and there laid to await the resurrection.
