As announced, the nuptials of Mr. Conrad Heck and Miss Annie Richert, eldest daughter of John Richert, of the firm of Fischer &Richert, occurred at the Lutheran church at 8 o'clock last evening, the ceremony being performed in a beautifully impressive manner by Rev. H. C. Fack.
The edifice was filled with the friends of the bride and groom. The groom is an industrious and much respected wagon-maker in the employ of Messrs, Fischer & Richert, and no young man has a greater number of personal friends and well-wishers. All his friends are congratulating him in the choice of so accomplished a wife. The bride is an accomplished and charming young lady, a great favorite, and the HERALD and their host of friends wish them much happiness.

MR. CONRAD HECK DEAD
Services for Retired Business Man Set for Thursday Afternoon.
Mr. Conrad Heck, widely known retired business man of this city died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at his home on Walnut street.
He had been in failing health for the past two years but had not been confined to his home except for the last three days of his illness. He was in his 73rd year.
Mr. Heck was born in Ober, Hesse, Germany, the son of hte late John Henry and Louise Krell Heck, who came to America when Mr. Heck was eight years of age.
After living a short time in Kentucky, the family settled in Madison where Mr. Heck became connected with the Flacher & Richret wagon works, and later entered the hardware and farm implement business.
His later business was built up by him to be what was considered at one time to be the largest agricultural business in this section of the state. After operating this business for some twenty-one years he retirrd about thirteen years ago.
He was married to Anna Richert, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Richert, who survives together with three children, Miss Clara J. Heck, and Mr. Richard C. and Conrad J. Heck and three grandchildren, Richard Tevis, Nancy Jean and John Conrad Heck. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Arthur Monroe, of Wataska, Ill. A sister, Mrs. Lena Bowing and a brother, Henry Heck, preceded him in death.
Mr. Heck was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran church of this city, and served as secretary for a period of fifty-two years. He was also the next oldest member of Fair Play Fire Co. No. 1, and served as secretary of this company for forty-seven years. He also held membership in Madison lodge Knights of Pythias, and the orders of Odd Fellows and Red Men.
Friends are invited to call at the residence and to attend funeral services which will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
