OBITUARIES
LYMAN - Tom L. Atkinson, 67, of Gooding, a former Lyman area farmer, died June 18, 1996, in Gooding of a heart attack.
He was born September 24, 1928, in El Segundo, California, to Thomas Atwell and Millie Lake Atkinson. He moved with his family to the Lyman area in 1935, where he attended school. He attended high school in Rexburg. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy. He then worked as a welder in California.
In 1961, he married Mickey Marquerite McCoy in Los Angeles. They moved to Lyman, where they farmed and operated a small dairy. In 1983 they moved to Jackpot, Nevada, until 1992, when they moved to Gooding.
Survivors include his wife of Gooding; two sons, Thomas Randall Atkinson of Kalamath Falls, Oregon, and Vernon Attwell Atkinson of Lyman; two brothers, Max Atkinson of St. Anthony, and Larry Atkinson of Lyman; and two sisters, Gwen Robinson of Newdale, and Marva Briggs of Rigby.
Funeral services were held June 21, 1996, in Gooding. Graveside services were held today at 11 a.m. in the Sutton Cemetery at Archer, under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg.
