Mr. Jackson Thomas "Jack" Bowen, 95 of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday morning, November 25, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Blackshear, GA on October 23, 1917, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Mr. Bowen was a retired farmer and also a retired school bus driver. He had served on the county ASCS committee and was a US Army veteran having served during World War II. Mr. Bowen was a member of Journey at Faith Christian Fellowship and was a son of the late Thomas Malachi & Etta Roberson Bowen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Alla Mae Jacobs Bowen; a daughter, Libby Ray Bowen; two sons, Sonny Bowen and an infant son; a grandson, Ken Bowen; and by a great granddaughter, Branda Harrelson.

Survivors include 8 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Zane Howard of Blackshear, Mavis & Larry Hughes of Waycross, Lydia & Tony Lee of Blackshear, Margaret & Jackie Bennett of Blackshear, Nancy & Sammy Dixon of Thomasville, Marie & Dwight Deloach of Blackshear, Cynthia & Lanny Williams of Blackshear and Donna & Mark Patterson of Blackshear; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy & Lois Bowen of Lithonia and Terry & Jane Bowen of Blackshear; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise & Harvey Thornberry of Massilion, OH and Margaret Votaw of Folkston; two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Quincey Bowen of Waycross and Mitch & Noreen Bowen of Blackshear; 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Memorials:
Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services for Mr. Bowen will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 12:00 o'clock at the Blackshear Church of God.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.
