Daniel M. Landes of Fountainville, died Friday at his home. He was 68.

Born in Doylestown Township, he was the son of the late Jonas and Anna Myers Landes.

He was the husband of Edna Bishop Landes, who survives him. The couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in April.

For more than 45 years, Mr. Landes worked as a commission merchant, serving the Northeast section of Philadelphia. He was a member of Doylestown Mennonite Church, where he formerly served as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and youth sponsor. He also was a former chairman of the church council. Mr. Landes was a former board member of the Souderton Mennonite Homes Inc. He was active with the Life Abundant prison ministry and was a former secretary for the Clayton Kratz Fellowship in Kulpsville. Mr. Landes represented Doylestown Mennonite Church on the Central Bucks Christian Council of Churches, Doylestown. He was a member of the Bucks-Mont Butter and Eggs Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Judy Garrido of Dublin; three sons, D. Richard of Pennsburg, Dale of Cheboygan, MI, and Gerald of West Liberty, OH; nine grandchildren; a brother, Clayton Landes of Doylestown: and a sister, Florence Kindy of Plumsteadville.

Services will be at Doylestown Mennonite Church.
