Mildred I. Sterner Harper Wagaman, of New Oxford, passed away November 24, 2012, in Gettysburg. She was the wife of Robert L. Wagaman who died December 1975.

Born June 12, 1920, in New Chester, she was the daughter of the late Burtis J. and Annie (Staub) Sterner.

Mildred was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Broadway, Hanover and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, H. Lee Harper and wife, Celestia and Burtis Harper and his companion, Lucy Ege, all of York and Donald Wagaman and wife, Pat of New Oxford; three siblings, Romane Spangler and Beulah May Sterner, both of Hanover and Richard Sterner of Greencastle; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Schrum; two grandsons, David Wagaman and Burtis Harper Jr.; and six siblings, Francis, Dale, Lawrence, Burtis Jr., Ruth and Helen Sterner.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., November 28, 2012, at Murphy Funeral Home, McSherrystown, with Pastor Terrence McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
