Hazel Irene Sass, 81, Winchester, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at her home in Winchester. She was born July 17, 1931 at Winchester, the daughter of Albert James and Irene McMurtry White. She was a 1949 graduate of Winchester High School. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked in the kitchen for Winchester Public Schools for many years. She was a member and former Deaconess of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester and a member of the Women's Missionary Fellowship. She was a longtime volunteer at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital/F.W. Huston Medical Center in Winchester. She was married to Dale C. Sass on August 29, 1956 at Winchester, He survives at the home. Survivors include one son, Joseph "Joe" Sass, Topeka, one daughter, Linda Moriarty, Berryton, KS., one sister, Minnie Belle Gorden, Winchester, three grandchildren, Colette Moriarty, Colin Moriarty, April (Dave) Hunt and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Dylan Hunt. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd White, Gene White, Royden White and a sister, Ruth Bussell. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 PM, Wednesday at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester. Memorials may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Church or to F. W. Huston Medical Center in care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS. 66066
