Funeral Services

The funeral of the late James R. Jordan, of Pecatonica, was held in that town on Tuesday, at the residence of Dr. Frank Jordan, son of the deceased. Rev. Mr. Rose, of the Congregational church, conducted the services. The remains were taken to Freeport by a delegation of masons from A. W. Rawson lodge, No. 145, of Pecatonica, and also from Freeport. Forming in line they marched two by two in front of the hearse to the city cemetery, where, after the masonic burial service was said, the remains were lowered into the grave. The Freeport masons in the procession were over thirty, while those from Pecatonica were about a half dozen. Hon. Jacob Krohn acted as marshal, L. L. Munn, as chaplain, and while in the march Wm. Swanzey carried the large bible. The pall bearers, Freeport mansons, were S. C. Buckman, W. W. Lott, W. L. Beebe, E. L. Cronkrite, Geo. A. Stiles, and Jacob Hartman.
