Thomas Anderson Bradford, was b. in Halifax NC son of HENRY BRADFORD & SARAH CROWELL, brother of Dr. Edward 'Ned', Richard Henry, Henry B., Polly Whitaker, Martha Judge, all of Tallahassee, Nathaniel of Crawford Co GA, & John of Cherokee Co AL. His wife was Elizabeth Eelbeck, they had 8 children. The four Bradford brothers, Thomas, Edward, Henry B., and Richard, all from Governor Branch's hometown of Enfield, North Carolina, arrived in 1832, the same year as Branch. They bought extensive acreages near Lake Iamonia. [p.5, "From Cotton to Quail" by Clifton Paisley] Considered the black sheep of the family - he had refused to learn a profession so his father, Henry, sent him to live with his brother John in Tennessee in 1820, and all he did was marry Elizabeth Eelbeck (John's wife's sister) who was also visiting at that time. Later moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1831 with three brothers and settled at Walnut Hill in the same vicinity. Southern Christian Advocate Obituaries, 1867-78; Issue 5 Aug 1874 Mr. Thomas A.
