Mrs. Jesse Stallard Passes at Age of 71

Mrs. Jessie Stallard passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grant Banks, Friday on Cowan. Infirmities of age was said to be the cause of death. Mrs. Stallard was a splendid Christian character and had, it seems a premonition of death, as she asked her family take her to her daughter's home for her last days.

The deceased is survived by her husband, Jesse, of the Thornton section and six daughters and one son. Also a legion of other relatives and friends throughout the county.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Banks, and burial was in the Ice Cemetery. The ministers were Colonel Sexton, Andy Bates and Millard Adams. Mr. Stewart of the Johnson Funeral Home was called to prepare the body for interment.
