Services were conducted by Rev. Penny Hansel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, may 18, at United Methodist Church, Guttenberg.
Visitation was Friday at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Guttenberg.
Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, rural Guttenberg, with the following pallbearers: Andrew Becker, Luke Horak, Andrew Tuecke, Jordan Horack, Scott Tuecke and Isaac Tuecke. Honorary bearers were Fred Scheibe, Scott Evans, Mark Tuecke and Ron Horak.
Dorothy Doris (Thurow) Becker was born the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Stromberg) Thurow July 13, 1906, on the family farm near Charles City. She graduated from the Charles City High School and University of Northern Iowa. She taught country school near Charles City and sixth grade in Guttenberg. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and was the heart and soul of her family.
On April 20, 1929, she was united in marriage with Albert C. Becker at West Union.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean (Robert) Scheibe of Tucson, Ariz., and Mary (William) Tuecke of Marion; one son, Fredrick Alan (Ann) Becker of Guttenberg; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Albert C. Becker; one granddaughter, Alisa Ann Becker; one brother, Frank Thurow, and two sisters, Thelma O'Harrow, and Bessie in infancy.
