She was a graduate of Lucy Flower High School in Chicago. She was a graduate of Bethany Hospital School of Nursing and also Michael Reese Nursing School.
She was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Hinsdale T.B. Sanitarium and then LaGrange Hospital retiring in 1964.
Mrs Stoy moved to the Cayman Islands in 1964 and had been a School Teacher at Triple C School on Grand Cayman Island. She had been a Volunteer at the Georgetown Hospital on Grand Cayman Island. She had managed the Silver Sands and Cayman Sand Hotels and was the co-owner of the Sea View Hotel, then the oldest hotel on Cayman until it was destroyed in Hurricane Ivan. She was a Member and co-founder of the Cayman Islands Conservation Society. She was a member of the Cayman Island Garden Club. Mrs Stoy had been very active in founding the Boatswain Bay Presbyterian Church in Grand Cayman. She was a life-long supporter of Gideon's, bringing hundreds of Bibles to Grand Cayman. Mrs Stoy was a current member of Christ Church of Oak Brook, Illinois.
Mrs Stoy became a resident of Lombard in 2004.
Mrs Stoy is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus, and her son, Mark Randall Stoy. She had been married for 66 years to her late husband.
