Florence Marian Davis, daughter of James C. and Sarah Bottorff, was born November 8, 1891 on a farm near Union Star and died November 3, 1978 at the Cameron Community hospital. She was converted and joined the Hopewell Baptist Church when she was a young girl, and was a member of the Fairport Baptist Church at the time of her death. In 1919 she was United in marriage to Joseph N. Davis. Two children were born to this union, Josephine (Mrs. Gene Clay), of Lebanon Missouri and Lee, of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her children, one son-in-law, Gene Clay, one daughter-in-law Darlyne Davis, 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, to sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The children express their appreciation for the character and assistance show to her by the nieces and nephews neighbors and friends since the death of her husband in 1971. They will always be remembered for their kindness.
