Albert Gasink, one of the pioneer residents of this city, died at six o'clock this morning at the home of Mrs. And Mrs. Chris. Wagner of East Wood street. On the 23rd of last October he suffered a stroke of paralysis and he has been practically helpless ever since. Deceased was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 14, 1853, and came to this county with his parents in the spring of 1869. The located on a farm in Woodville township where Albert lived for a time and then located in this city, where he was a contracting teamster until four years ago, when he retired from active work. He was never married and for some years past had made his home with his niece, Mrs. Wagner. He was honest and square in all his dealings and "an honest man is the noblest work of God." Surviving deceased are his brothers, Gradus Gasink of St. James, and two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Hessel of Gresham, Ore., and Mrs. Gottlieb Schultz of Meshicot, Wis. The funeral will be held Sunday from the Congregational church. The time has not been set, owing to the absence of Rev. Griffith. Waseca Herald 9-27-1917
