Fay Pinckley Reeve, 88, of Friona, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Parmer County Community Hospital in Friona. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Friona United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Patterson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 4, 1917 in Denton County, TX to Jarrett Scott and Cynthia Marcella Yancey Pinckley. She was a 1938 graduate of North Texas State Teachers College. She married Floyd Hadley Reeve on Feb. 28, 1942 in Dennison, TX. He died April 11, 1957. She taught school in Perryton from 1938 - 1942. She also taught school in Droit, Ill. in 1943. In November of 1943 she moved to Friona from Belleville, Ill. She taught school in Friona from 1958 - 1983. She has been a faithful member of the Friona United Methodist Church since 1943 and has served on the Official Board, member of the United Methodist Women where she served as president, taught Sunday school, sang in the Chancel Choir for 50 years, and helped with the Tape Ministry. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Iota Eta Chapter teachers sorority. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary, and the modern study club (where she helped serve the Evening Lions Club for 50 years). She served with meals on wheels for many years and was a member of the Friona Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ruth Pinckley, Pauline Collins, and Marie Castle and a brother Jarrett Pinckley.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Scott Reeve of Friona and Dr. David Lee Reeve of Weatherford; two daughters, Sharon Louise White of Friona and Carol Ann Perry of Lubbock; two sisters, Marcella Patterson of Abilene and Sue Morgan of Perryton; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. Family suggests memorials to the Friona United Methodist Church or Youth With A Mission, P.O. Box 3000, Tyler, TX. 75771.
