Phyllis Lucille Looslie, 82, of Elgin, died Nov. 20 of heart failure at Grande Ronde Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 27 at the Elgin Cemetery, followed by a reception for family and friends at the Elgin Community Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory. Phyllis was born Aug. 14, 1930, in North Powder to Isham William and Miriam Blanche (Pearce) Taylor. She was raised in North Powder and attended Powder Valley School where she played volleyball. On Aug. 15, 1947, she married Dan Looslie. Phyllis spent her entire life caring for her home and her family. She loved flowers and cooking. She had a special love for each of her grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the Phithan Sisters Service Club in Elgin. In her earlier years she belonged to a bowling team. She also was a volunteer serving senior meals. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ed Taylor and Jean Barnett. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Dan Looslie of Elgin; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Looslie of Elgin; son, Danny Looslie of Lexington; brother, Tom Taylor of Pendleton; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
