"Miss Gertrude Day, 60, of 317 S. Maple, died Thursday at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Morton and Belle (Kent) Day. She was born in Nashville and had lived in Bloomington since she was six years old. She was employed as a book-keeper at the Home Laundry for several years and recently was employed by the Housekeeping Dept. at Indiana University. Miss Day was a member of the W. 2nd St. Church of Christ. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ross (Tressa) Downs of Smithville Rd, Mrs. Linus (Earl) Roubadeaux of 750 S. Lincoln, and Miss Ida Day of 317 S. Maple; a brother, Ralph day of 220 Matlock Rd; and several nieces and nephews. Bros. Lowell Barr and Johnie Edwards conducted the funeral at 10 am Saturday at Day Chapel. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
