Helga M. Sjue, 90, Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 in Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND.
Helga M. Jacobson was born on June 3, 1922 on a farm in Plumer Township, Divide Co, ND to John and Anna (Haugen) Jacobson. She graduated from Crosby (ND) High School in 1940. Helga worked for a short time at Powers Creamery in Crosby. After graduation, she moved to the Spokane, WA area for several years returning to Crosby in 1948.
She married Gudmunn Sjue in August of 1950 and divorced later in 1969. She and Gudmunn lived and farmed in the Portal, ND area until 1956.
They moved to West Fargo, ND in 1956. Helga began working for John Boler in 1957 as a bookkeeper at KXJB television in Fargo until 1979. She continued working for John Boler until 1987 when she retired.
Helga was very devoted to her family. In West Fargo, she was also reunited with her sister, Arlette, and her family. Arlette was her best friend. Helga spent most of her life supporting and caring for her children and their families.
Helga was preceded in death by her parents, son, Erik Sjue, brother, Arnold Jacobson and sisters, Arlette Sjue and Thelma Jacobson.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Jeannie) Gwilliam, Albuquerque, NM and Garth (Verlette) Sjue, Williston, ND; daughter, Kathy Rodgers, West Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law, Shirley Sjue, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Chad Gwilliam, Kirsten Sjue, Kiel Sjue, Matthew Sjue, Mick Rodgers, Jacey Rodgers and Garret Sjue; two great grandchildren, Eli Gwilliam and Ethan Sjue.
Visitation: Saturday from noon to 1:00 pm.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Burial: Portal Cemetery, Portal, ND.
