Alfred J. Cramton, 62, of Lynchburg, died Saturday (Oct. 24, 1992) at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Harshbarger) Cramton, whom he married Nov. 21, 1956, in Hillsboro.
He was born Feb. 7. 1930, in Lynchburg, the son of Alfred E. and Martha J. (Mercer) Cramton. He was retired as the vocation agriculture teacher in the Lynchburg Schools. He became the farm management instructor at Laurel Oaks Vocational School, where he taught for more than 5 years. He was a member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge No. 178 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, past president of the Highland County Retired Teachers Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Liberty Savings Bank. He was also past president of the Ohio Vo-ag Teachers and a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he played in the marching band for four years. He received his master's degree from OSU, and he was a former Highland County Republican Central Committeeman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived a daughter, a son, and a granddaughter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lynchburg United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold Braley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Masonic services and Scottish Rite Ring services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg United Methodist Church or to the Lynchburg Life Squad.
