Clara Belinda, wife of Henry Vinger, was born on the Christ Townsend homestead in the town of Argyle, April 29th, 1872. There she grew up to womanhood. On March 14, 1892, she was married to Henry Vinger.
This union was blessed with seven children: Alma, Gilman, Esther, Cora, Martin, Christian and Alice; the last mentioned passed away January 7, this year, preceding her mother by a few months. The subject's mother, and also a brother passed into the vast beyond before her. Besides husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss, father and stepmother, five brothers and three sisters and a host of friends, but what is our loss is our gain.
The funeral was held from the home in Lamont Monday, July 24th at the Apple Grove Lutheran church, where the remains were placed at rest in the adjoining cemetery, the Lutheran services being read by her pastor, Rev. P.J. Johnson.
Many and beautiful were the floral tributes presented by her friends and neighbors, a token of the esteem in which she was held. Beautiful were the selections rendered by the Lamont choir, but grander than all else was the Christian faith that sustained her during her illness, and which bore her over the bridge than spans life and eternity.
