Leroy Early

Leroy Early, 82, died 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cate-Spencer and Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Haley officiating. Burial will be in the Roby Cemetery.

Born May 4, 1908 in Loraine, he was a farmer and did custodial work for the Roby Independent School District and he retired from the Odessa College as a custodian. He has lived in Sweetwater since 1979 and he was a Baptist.

He married Gladys Sluder January 12, 1929 in Roby.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Early of Sweetwater; three daughters, Lela Estalene Toler of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Doris Marie Jones of Odessa, and Landa "Sue" Beam of Midland; one brother, George Early of California; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Grandsons and great-nephews will be pallbearers.
