The book of life for a beloved mother, was reverently closed with Mrs. Olof Munson, quietly closed her eyes in death at seven o'clock Saturday morning, March 10th. She had been a resident of Clay county for sixty-nine years. Quiet in speech and manner, her life was one of service and faithfulness to her obligations as her children, her sisters, brothers, other relatives and friends will testify. Her interest in her children was that of a true mother, and it extended to include the comforts and happiness of her grandchildren, which is a sacred memory in their hearts.
Anna Louise Danielson, daughter of Jonas and Kristina Danielson, was born in Smaland, Sweden December 9, 1860, and passed from this life March 10, 1939 at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 1 day, at the home of her son Oliver Munson, 520 Anthony St., Clay Center, Kansas. She had enjoyed exceptionally good health all her life until about two months before her death. During her illness she repeatedly expressed her readiness and willingness to go home to God.
She came from Sweden with her parents to Illinois in 1865 where they lived only a few months before moving to Iowa where they made their home for four years. In the fall of 1870 they moved to a homestead northeast of Clifton, Kansas, moving to the Branford community in 1880. She was confirmed in the Mission church at Branford.
She was united in marriage to Olof Munson April 16, 1890. To this union were born two sons; Elmer who resides on the home place, and Oliver of this city. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Munson made their home in Garfield township and faithfully attended the Garfield Mission Church where Mrs. Munson was treasurer of the Ladies Aid for twenty years. Since 1917 they made their home in Clay Center, and worshipped with the congregation of the Third Street Methodist church. Mrs. Munson became a member of this church in February 1936.
Mr. Munson preceded his wife in death on June 29, 1934. She continued to keep her home, until recently and it was a place her family and friends loved to go. Mrs. Munson is survived by her two sons, Elmer and Oliver Munson and their wives, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom she held very dear, two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Johnson and Mrs. Fred Olson, three brothers, Albert, Dave and Will Danielson all of Clyde, Kansas, and a large number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with a short prayer service at 1:30 at the Oliver Munson home, and at 2:00 o'clock in the Third Street Methodist church conducted by the pastor Rev. George Gustafon, assisted by a former paster, Rev. Gust Freeman. A quartet, composed of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Humfeld, Mrs. Wilbur Neill and Dr. Marion Vincet sang "He Leadeth Me," and "Meet Me There". Mrs. Munson's niece, Mrs. Philip Wilson of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and Mr. Wilson sang "Shadows". The pall bearers were all nephews, Hobart, Wallace, Lloyd, Clarence and Reynold Danielson and Joseph Olson all of Clyde.
