Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 21 at First Lutheran Church in Warren. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren. The Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren was in charge of the arrangements.
Clarice Martha Plymire was born on October 26, 1916 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Jim and Lena (Hellie) Plymire. She was baptized on January 10, 1917 in Albert Lea and confirmed on May 10, 1923 in Newfolden. She attended grad school in Middle River and graduated from Newfolden High School on May 30, 1935. Clarice received her teachers training in Thief River Falls. She also attended Bemidji State Teachers College and the University of Minnesota. She taught school for 10 years at Holt, Newfolden and Radium.
On Jun 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to Carl E. Carlson at Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Warren. She was a substitute teacher and tutor from 1946 until 1974. Carl died on May 22, 1970. Clarice moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 1997 and was crowned its 'queen' in the spring of 1999.
She was an active member of First Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 20 years and was an officer of the Ladies Aid and circle. Clarice was also a member and officer of the Hospital Community Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and TOPS. She was a Girl Scout leader for 20 years.
She enjoyed reading, writing and participating in activities at the Good Samaritan Home.
Survivors include relatives, extended family members and special friends.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Luverne.
